Level Whitebox - Project Unreal
Project Unreal is a game in that players are acting as a default Unreal character model and defeat levels with special guns.
Since this project had a high degree of freedom in design, I wanted to create a very special level. I was inspired by Monument Valley and wanted the player to be able to walk on every wall. Therefore, changing gravity became the core mechanic at this level.

Layout Overview
The 2D layout was challenging to showcase this level effectively, so I opted to use a 3D layout instead to give the entire team a preliminary understanding of my design. During the design process, creating the golden path was a bit challenging. As a result, I simultaneously brainstormed player actions while sketching the layout.
Whitebox
Throughout the design, I aimed to give players a sense of disorientation, as if they were navigating through a large 3D maze. The placement of objects in Unreal conveyed a feeling of endless possibilities, and I wanted my level to offer a high degree of freedom as well.
Most of the house-like structures in the level are positioned in an inverted manner to give players a feeling of being on the ceiling. This design choice also encourages players to think and choose to change the direction of gravity.
Due to the frequent gravity shifts, players may feel a bit uncomfortable, so I designed some buffer areas where players can take a short rest.
In this level, players need to constantly change gravity to reach their destination. The player will use a gun to change gravity. When he shoots a wall, the direction of gravity will be perpendicular to the wall.
When the player is floating in the air, he cannot change gravity. Therefore, if the player chooses the wrong direction, he will fly to the outside world and die.
